Christian Vision & Values
Our Christian Vision
Statement of Vision and Values
In consultation with pupils, parents, governors, community members and staff our vision and values were generated based on our inspiration from the Parable of the Sower and how this links to our children and their journey with us.
Deep Roots. Strong Growth freedom to Flourish
Our vision at St James' CE Primary School, is inspired by Matthew 13 [Parable of the Sower]
"That same day Jesus left the house and went to the lakeside, where he sat down to teach. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it, while the crowd stood on the shore. He used parables to tell them many things.
“Once there was a man who went out to sow grain. As he scattered the seed in the field, some of it fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some of it fell on rocky ground, where there was little soil. The seeds soon sprouted, because the soil wasn't deep. But when the sun came up, it burned the young plants; and because the roots had not grown deep enough, the plants soon dried up. Some of the seed fell among thorn bushes, which grew up and choked the plants. But some seeds fell in good soil, and the plants bore grain: some had one hundred grains, others sixty, and others thirty.”

Our Values
We decided at St James CE Primary School that Kindness and Respect are values which we feel underpin our vision and are incorporated in all we do and say – so therefore these two values will be taught alongside all the other six values we have chosen.
Every day both as individuals and as a school community we will strive to live out our school vision and values! Our rewards & sanctions will also link to them as will all parts of school life at St James CE primary School, this will help our children grow to be successful in life academically, spiritually and as confident members of the school community.
