St James' Vision and Aims
|
Mission Statement
The aim of the school, in partnership with staff, parents and members of the community, is to promote a happy, safe, secure and stimulating environment which provides for the total development of each child; where the curriculum is broad and balanced and caters for the need of the individual and where Christian values are encouraged in all aspects of school life.
School Aims
The aim of the school is to promote a happy, secure and stimulating environment which provides for the total development of each child, where the curriculum is broad and balanced and caters for the need of the individual and where Christian values of love and respect for one another are encouraged in all aspects of school life.
Educational Aims
It is the aim of the Governors and staff that every child has access to the requirements of the National Curriculum and that he/she makes progress, which is appropriate to his or her ability. As a school we are committed to life long learning and ensure that all staff have the opportunity for personal and professional development.
Social Aims
We believe that in school attitudes and behaviour must be based on the fact that every member of the school community is of equal importance in the eyes of one another and of God. Therefore it is the right of every person to have access to equal opportunities so that they may reach their full potential regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnic origin, age, class, religion, culture, language, physical appearance, ability, background or medical needs. We recognise that the children in our care live in a multi-cultural society and therefore should be prepared to take their places as happy, confident, responsible people in society.
Moral and Spiritual Aims
The aim is to help pupils achieve a knowledge and understanding of religious beliefs and practices whilst also gaining an understanding of the spiritual dimension of life so that they may be able to continue in or come to their own beliefs. The aim is also to develop the children's respect in relation to the right of other people to hold beliefs, which are different from their own.
